Late Wednesday afternoon, the Minnesota Department of Transportation issued the following statement notifying travelers of a delay to the previously announced ramp opening.
According to the MnDOT release
"We have some unfortunate news to pass along. The reopening of the westbound I-94/694 ramp to southbound I-494 from in Maple Grove has been delayed until Oct. 26.
Crews have run into some issues with the construction of the bypass and will need to shutdown southbound I-494 to complete the work. In order to minimize traffic impacts and avoid multiple shutdowns of southbound I-494, we are timing the work with a previously scheduled closure of southbound I-494. That closure of southbound I-494 between I-694/94 and I-394 will take place Oct. 23-26.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience during this closure." 10 p.m. Oct. 13, 2015
As the construction I-494 rehabilitation project
continues to move forward, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that drivers will "once again be able to enter southbound Interstate 494 from westbound I-94/694 in Maple Grove" the evening of Oct. 14 (weather permitting).
The ramp has been closed for repairs since Sept. 7.
