Updated: Lane Closure During Natural Gas Pipe Installation

Crews working on installing a natural gas pipe will continue construction near the intersection of Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 and Northwest Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 14-18 (weather permitting). 

It is anticipated the "westernmost southbound Northwest Boulevard driving lane" will be closed near Bass Lake Road/County Road 10, according to CenterPoint Energy. "Residents and commuters can also anticipate the northernmost westbound Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 driving lane, from Highway 494 to Wedgewood Road, to be closed." 

Update Nov. 30

According to a Nov. 30 notification from CenterPoint Energy, work on the installation of a natural gas pipe along County Road 10/Bass Lake Road was halted Monday due to "heavy snowfall."

Construction is anticipated to resume "as soon as weather permits" near the southwest intersection of Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 and Northwest Boulevard.  The southbound turn lane onto Northwest Boulevard from Bass Lake Road is anticipated to be closed. 

As weather permits, work is expected to resume 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately two more weeks, according to CenterPoint Energy

recent notification from CenterPoint Energy stated that crews from Michels Corporation (an authorized contractor) have finished the majority of construction in Maple Grove of the natural gas pipe installation. 

"This week, crews will move across the city border to Plymouth and will continue open trenching natural gas distribution pipe along the south side of Bass Lake Road/County Road 10, between I-494 and Northwest Boulevard," Centerpoint Energy indicated. 

The southernmost eastbound Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 lane is anticipated to have intermittent closures during construction for the next two weeks.

Work on the installation of a natural gas distribution pipe along County Road 10/Bass Lake Road continues between Wedgewood Road North and I-494, according to CenterPoint Energy

It is anticipated the  "northernmost westbound Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 lane to be closed in the areas of construction through the end of the week," CenterPoint Energy said in a release Oct 27. "Restoration will follow early next week."

The "southernmost eastbound" Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 lane is anticipated to continue to be closed for two weeks in areas of the installation construction. 

Oct. 18, 2015 

Work by Michels Corporation (a CenterPoint Energy contractor) to install a natural gas distribution pipe began Oct. 14 at locations along Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 in Maple Grove and Plymouth.

During the installation is occurring between Wedgewood Road North in Maple Grove and Northwest Boulevard in Plymouth. As of  Oct. 16, “crews are currently installing natural gas distribution pipe from Wedgewood Road N. to just west of I-494,” according to CenterPoint Energy.

Lane shifts along eastbound Bass Lake Road are anticipated to continue through Oct. 23.

Please anticipate the westbound Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 turn lane to northbound Wedgewood Road N. to be shifted.

Approximately 600-feet of eight-inch steel pipe is anticipated to be replaced during the project, according to CenterPoint Energy.  Weather permitting; construction is planned for about five weeks.
