After nearly two months of repairs, the westbound I-94/694 ramp to southbound I-494 has been reopened, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The ramp has been closed for repairs since Sept. 8 as part of work for a two-year construction project on I-494.

Southbound I-494 travelers will see additional project changes between I-694/94 and Highway 55. Traffic along that route has been “shifted to the newly constructed lanes of southbound I-494,” according to MnDOT, which indicated that section of roadway will remain open to two lanes while work continues on the interstate.

Off-peak lane closures in both directions are anticipated throughout November.

The I-494 construction project includes adding a third land on I-494 between Highway 55 and I-94/694, repairing interstate pavement, and building a noise wall.
