Crimson Girls Hockey Dominates Champlin Park

After dropping their season opener, the Maple Grove Senior High School  Crimson girls hockey team have not lost rattling off a seven game unbeaten streak boasting a 5-0-2 record with ties to Anoka and Elk River/ Zimmerman.

Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Crimson put any fear of a loss or a tie to rest with a dominating 7-0 victory over Champlin Park High School. After a scoreless first period that saw the Crimson pepper Rebel goaltender Baleigh Shuck with 17 shots, the Crimson finally solved the Shuck puzzle scoring five goals in the first nine minutes of the second period.

Junior Taylor Wente scored twice for the Crimson, who finished the game with 43 shots on net. Goaltender Coco Francis made 11 saves in the game for her first shutout of the season.

Junior Taylor Wente had a four point night as she scored two goals and assisted on two others. Wente has tallied 17 points on the season (8G 9A) for the 7-1-2 Crimson.
