Attempted Burglary, Potbelly Pig: Maple Grove Police Incident Response Report

A synopsis of some incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department for the week of Dec. 11-17, 2015.

Dec. 11

  • 7800 block of Ranchview Lane. Report of an interrupted burglary, suspects ran off. Officers set up perimeter with K9 assistance, unable to locate suspect. Case remains active. 
    7600 block of Orchid Lane. Report of a potbelly pig running loose in area; on arrival pig had been wrangled up by reporting party.  Officer’s took custody of pig and transported it to PUP’s
  • 4000 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of theft of two backpacks taken unlocked vehicle in parking lot; no suspects at this time.

Dec. 12

  • 3000 block of Grove Drive. Report of theft at store, suspect located and arrested for shoplifting. 

Dec. 13

  • 87th Avenue and Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane. Officers located vehicle, person arrested person for DWI.
  • 6400 block of Berkshire Lane. Report of unlocked vehicle with keys in console stolen from driveway overnight. Another unlocked vehicle had property stolen. No suspects.
  • 6800 block of Berkshire Lane. Report of theft. Wallet containing a large sum of cash was reported stolen from unlocked vehicle in driveway. Currently no suspects.

Dec. 14

  • 17000 block of 76th Avenue. Report lawn ornament used to break rear window of vehicle in driveway. Currently no suspects.
  • 17000 block of 91st Avenue. Report of items stolen from unlocked vehicle in driveway. No suspects at this time.

Dec. 15

  • 18000 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of Christmas light laser projector stolen from yard. No suspects at this time.
Dec. 16
  • 12000 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of suspicious activity, individual trying doors on parked vehicles. No suspects located in area, no reported thefts or damage to vehicles.

During this time period there were three medical incidents, 31 property damage traffic accidents, and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
