Following a public hearing March 7 for the Wellington Crest Street Rehabilitation Project and Timberwood/Gleason Estates Street Rehabilitation Project, the Maple Grove City Council approved plans and specifications for the project and authorized for the advertisement of bids at its March 21 meeting.

The recommendation for the award of the projects is anticipated at the May 2 Maple Grove City Council meeting.

In 2012, the Maple Grove City Council adopted a five-year plan for several different street rehabilitation projects throughout the city, including a schedule of proposed locations  each year until 2017.

At the Dec. 21 Maple Grove City Council meeting, the council approved establishing two projects and ordering a feasibility report, with tentative plans to begin the projects in 2016 and “consists of those properties roughly bounded by 89th Avenue, Elm Creek Boulevard, 93rd Avenue,” according to documents provided to the city council.

The projects, which impacts approximately 833 properties, are referred to as the Wellington Crest Street Rehabilitation Project and Timberwood/Gleason Estates Street Rehabilitation Project.

It is estimated the council will receive the feasibility report and establish a public and assessment hearing by Feb. 1, with the actual hearing March 7 – including a time to authorize advertisement for bids and approving plans.
