Boys Basketball
Osseo 84 Elk River 66
After taking a four point lead to the halftime break, the Orioles outscored the Elks by 14 to win 84-66 and remain perfect on the season at 17-0. Osseo was led in scoring by Damario Armstrong’s 19 points. John Bezdicek added 17 and Mar Mar Hughes added 13. The Orioles face Totino-Grace on Friday, Jan. 22.

Maple Grove 67 Anoka 40
The Crimson picked up a balanced scoring attack in their 27 point win over the Tornadoes. Reed Nikko and Taron Pickford scored 13 points, while Brad Davison added 12. The Crimson host Rogers Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Girls Basketball
Elk River 59 Osseo 44
The Elks handed the Orioles their first loss since Dec. 1. Mikayla Homola led the Orioles in scoring with 13 points while Kiara Russel added 12. The Orioles face Totino-Grace on Friday, Jan. 22.

Maple Grove 52 Anoka 42
Trailing at half, the Crimson defense buckled down and allowed just 19 points in the second half. Mackenzie Barta led all scorers with 22 points while Allie Schmidt and Autumn Mlinar added 10. The Crimson host Park Center Friday, Jan. 22.

Heritage Christian Academy 67 Trinity 35
Four Eagles scored in double digits Tuesday night as Heritage cruised past Trinity. Annika Simonson led all scorers with 19 while Taylie Scott added 17. Abby Torve and Morgan Meissner each had 12. The Eagles (9-5, 6-1 in conference) host Lester Prairie in a huge conference match up on Thursday, Jan. 21.

Girls Hockey
Maple Grove 12 North Metro 0
The Maple Grove Crimson girls hockey team scored six goals in an eight minute stretch in the second quarter to run away from North Metro Tuesday night. Eight Crimson players scored in the game and Lauren Kaufmann notched a hat trick in the win. The Crimson have four games remaining before the section tournament. Friday, Jan. 22, they face the Breck Mustangs who defeated the Crimson 3-0 back in December.
