Planning for the annual Pierre Bottineau Parade during Maple Grove Days is underway - with event scheduled to take place July 14, 2016.

With more than 10,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the event. l

The parade route follows 89th Avenue, from Zachary Lane to Rice Lake Road. Political units start off at 6 p.m., airplane flyover is at 6:15 p.m., followed by the remaining parade units at 6:30 p.m.

The parade is filled with visiting royalty, floats, school marching bands, youth groups, church groups, school and community organizations, businesses, police and fire vehicles, animals, musical groups, and more.  and the list goes on.

As of Feb. 25, applications for parade entry are being accepted.

Interested applicants can apply online at parade committee reviews hundreds of applications each year. Hours of daylight limit the number of units that can be permitted in the parade. This limitation on units combined with the popularity of the parade means that available spaces fill very quickly.
