Four Things to Know About Precinct Caucuses March 1

Are you gearing up for the 2016 general election? Political parties will be hosting precinct caucuses March 1 – an opportunity to support a candidate, discuss issues, and more.
Specific questions about each caucus can be addressed by the each political party, but here are a few general items to note if you’re interested in attending a precinct caucus.
- The 2016 precinct caucuses are 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 in Minnesota.
- Precinct caucuses are run by political parties throughout Minnesota. Parties many endorse candidates, select delegates, and set platforms. “In 2016, a major part of precinct caucuses will be to vote for the person you want your political party to support for President in the presidential preference ballot,” according to the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State.
