Plans for a new preschool continue move forward after receiving a PUD Concept Amendment approval from the Maple Grove City Council at the March 7 meeting.
Details of the project, according to information provided to the city council, include:
- Prestige Preschool Academy requested an approval to the PUD Concept Stage Plan for the Skye at Arbor Lakes to build a single-story preschool, approximately 10,850 square feet, on 1.3 acres on the south end at the Skye at Arbor Lakes. In addition to the building, a play area and parking is planned.
- The proposed preschool, across the street from Central Park near 12101 Central Park Way, would provide childcare and education services for approximately 178 children for 12 hours a day, Monday through Friday, including infant care, private kindergarten, half day programs, and before and after school programs.
- The request was submitted by Shingobee Real Estate Company, LLC on behalf of their tenant, Prestige Preschool Academy.
- Prestige Preschool Academy has locations in Apple Valley, Brooklyn Park, and several others are in the various development stages.
The next step in the process is the submission and review of the Development Stage Plan, a formal development plan containing all of the details for development including a site plan, grading plan, architectural review, lighting plan, landscaping plan, and more, according to Maple Grove Community Development Director Dick Edwards.
The timeline for the completion of the next step is unknown at this time.
