The beginning of March brought with it the opening of a new business - Apricot Lane Boutique opened at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes (next to Yankee Candle).

Apricot Lane Boutique in Maple Grove is an independently owned and operated franchise by Kristine Haas, who has two other locations  – as well as a passion for retail and fashion.

“I love Apricot Lane Boutique because of the unique and on-trend clothing that we offer. Style seekers can replicate any of the high-end looks they see for less.  With limited quantities of every item in the store, each purchase ensures our customer has their own style unlike the large retail stores in the area,” Haas said. “I did a pop-up shop last fall at Arbor Lakes and had great response from local customers. I knew it would be a great location to expand.”

The boutique offers apparel and accessories for women of all ages, with new options arriving almost daily. Clothing is “affordable and on trend,” Haas said, stating customers can shop in a comfortable and inviting environment.

“It isn’t unusual for staff to help shoppers with a look they are working to achieve or on what size works best,” she said. “We want people to be happy with their choice and come back.”

Since the early March opening, the Maple Grove community has been welcoming to the newest Apricot Lane Boutique location. “We have had a really good response from customers, they have been glad to have us here,” she said.

Kristine, her husband Mike and sons Matthew and Jake live in Lakeville. As parents of a child with special needs, Kris and Mike have been involved in raising awareness and funding for Down ’s syndrome organizations. In keeping with Apricot Lane corporate’s mission and their own personal mission, Kris and Mike continue to use Apricot Lane as a vehicle to help give back to the community as well.

"In my other boutiques, we have hosted Fashion Fundraisers and we plan to host them at our new store as well. By helping charities, as well as women find a style that is uniquely their own, it’s a win win,” she said.

California based Country Visions Inc. opened its first Apricot Lane store in 2007. It now supports more than 75 franchise stores in 29 states, with plans to open 15 to 20 more nationwide each year.
