As part of an annual event, the Maple Grove City Council recently approved the proclamation of April 30 as Arbor Day in the city of Maple Grove.

The Arbor Day proclamation coincides with the yearly Arbor Day Celebration at the Maple Grove Community Center.

The 2016 event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., April 30 and includes activities such as: tree seedling distribution (donated by Wright-Hennepin Electric while supplies last), raptor presentation from the University of Minnesota Raptor Center, and information and/or brochures about tress, emerald ash borer invasion, buckthorn treatment and the city’s tree inventory project.

Activities are subject to change.

The proclamation was approved by the Maple Grove City Council at its March 7, 2016 meeting.
