After months of construction at the former Alleygators/Spectrum Lanes site, Phoenix-based Children’s Learning Adventure is planning on the grand opening of newest location in Maple Grove.

The grand opening is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at 13001 62nd Place in Maple Grove. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP, according to a Children's Learning Adventure representative, but it isn’t required.

The new location is approximately 33,000 square feet with a 40,000 square foot outdoor playground. Child care programs offered include infant, toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten before-and-after school, and summer camp options.

“Our grand openings are really cool events. There is lots of energy and excitement as parents and children are able to experience our school for the first time, which includes meeting with our educational specialists on an individual basis to discuss the best fit for each parent and child,” Children's Learning Adventure Vice President of Development Dan Petersen said. “We find that our schools largely enroll near our capacity at our openings, so we urge parents to reach out through our website to discuss their options in advance of the opening.”

Applications and enrollment start the week of June 25 with classes beginning a few weeks later. The facility is designed to have a licensed capacity over 500, according to Peterson, but the actual number of children onsite depends on the age of the child since each age group is separate from others.

The educational curriculum for non-school age children at the center is similar to the school schedule of older children. There is a homeroom setting and from there, children experience different specialty learning environments such as a math and science lab, art studio, television studio, library, garden center, a miniature city, and cooking classroom.

“Children's Learning Adventure began with the belief that children have an unlimited capacity for learning. Our goal was to create a curriculum and facility that were educationally enriching, mentally stimulating, and just plain fun for children,” Petersen said. “Each of these environments is utilized to reinforce curriculum concepts initiated in the home room setting.”

For school age youth, Children’s Learning Center offers after school and summer camp opportunities.

“We dedicate an entire wing of our campus - approximately 10,000 square feet - to K-6th graders with amenities designed around their interests: bowling lanes, indoor basketball court, iPads, Xbox Kinect, cooking school, modern dance, ballet studio, and more,” Peterson said.

From managerial, educational, and support positions, Children's Learning Adventure is planning hiring approximately 100 people at the Maple Grove location. Interested applicants can apply at
