Basketball Campers in Maple Grove Fired Up To Meet Minnesota Lynx Maya Moore

Jun 17, 2016 07:40AM ● By Doug Erlien
More than 50 basketball players filled the Maple Grove Community Gyms at Maple Grove Middle School on Thursday, June 16 to take the court with Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore.

The
Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx Basketball Academy put on the clinic for youth in grades 2-7 and gave the campers an opportunity to meet Moore, take a picture, and receive an autograph from the WNBA All-Star. Moore talked with the campers about the importance of good nutrition and answered questions ranging from what she eats before games to how many high fives the Lynx give during the course of a game. She also happened to met a camper who happens to share the same name. "We're name twins," Moore said. "Hi name twin."

Moore then led the group in a drill focusing on ball handling using the same routine she uses before every game.

The next
Timberwoles and Lynx Basketball Academy Camp at Maple Grove Middle School is July 18-19 for ages 7-14 (half day camps, times vary depending on age).
