Abandoned Briefcase, Just Staying Cool: MGPD Incident Report

The following is a synopsis of several incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department between July 17-30, 2016.

July 17
  • Report of person entering residence through open garage on 14000 block of 93rd Place. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of unlocked vehicle entered in driveway and items taken at 15000 block of 94th Place. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of unlocked vehicle entered in parking lot and items taken at 11000 block of 71st Place. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of person having seizure and fell at 15000 block of 76th Avenue. Officers arrived with ambulance and transported person to hospital.
  • Report of occupied suspicious vehicle parked in area of 9000 block of Wellington Lane. Officers made contact and arrested parties for drugs.
July 18
  • Report of person that had fallen in parking lot of 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Officers provided medical care until paramedics arrived to transport party to hospital.
  • Report of park bench damaged with spray paint at 10000 block of 104th Avenue. Notified park department for repairs.
  • Report of bike taken outside of business of 12000 block of Weaver Lake Road. Video viewed and suspect and bike located. No charges at this time.

July 19
  • Report of items taken from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway of 6200 block of Chesshire Lane. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of person possibly having a heart attack at 8200 block of Main Street. On arrival, provided oxygen until paramedics transported to hospital.
  • Report of item stolen from unlocked vehicle parked on street on 12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Case currently being investigated.

July 20
  • Report of bike stolen from garage that had been left open during the night on 7000 block of Carey Lane. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of front license plate stolen from vehicle while parked in driveway of 17000 block of 73rd Place. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of items stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight on 12000 block of 70th Avenue. No suspects at this time.

July 21
  • Report of mailbox stolen from post for the second time at 9100 block of Yucca Lane. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of damage to mailbox post at 9100 block of Yucca Lane. It appeared to officer that someone tried to pull mailbox off post. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of several items in backyard moved, damaged or stolen at 6200 block of Monticello Lane. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of three suspicious vehicles driving through neighborhood multiple times on 8000 block of Shadyview Lane. Officers could not locate vehicles.
July 22
  • Report of person having chest pains on 10000 block of Yorktown Lane. On arrival officers assisted person to the floor and provided oxygen. Transported to hospital by ambulance.
  • Report of person taking items and concealing them then leaving business without paying at 15000 block of Grove Circle. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of suspect entering residence through open garage door and taking items from inside on 15000 block of 92nd Place. Investigations to follow up on possible suspect.
July 23
  • Report of bicycle stolen from business area and owners later located it in yard of a residence on 10000 block of 160th Place. No suspects and resident did not know anything about bike.
  • Report of person having a seizure on 11000 block of Fountains Drive. On officers arrival not seizing; ambulance arrived and cleared officers.
  • Report of person concealing items and leaving business without paying on 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Officers located suspect and arrested them for theft.
July 24
  • Report of a prowler on 6200 block of Larch Lane. Victim came out to move vehicle into driveway, found a suspect inside vehicle who then ran. On arrival no suspect located and several items stolen from vehicle.
  • Report of diabetic person unconscious at 7400 block of Berkshire Way. On arrival officers gave oxygen until paramedic arrived for transport.
  • Unlocked vehicle stolen from driveway overnight at 8100 block of Yellowstone Lane. No suspects at this time.
July 25
  • Report of several suspects concealing items and leaving business without paying at 9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Officers located suspect vehicle and arrested all suspects.
  • Report of bicycle stolen from area of 9000 block of Fernbrook Lane. No suspects located.
  • Report of dog left in vehicle of 9500 block of Upland Lane. Dog owner cited for offense.
  • Report of several items stolen from 18000 block of 97th Place. No suspects at this time.
July 26
  • Report of a person who slipped and having leg pain at 12000 block of Weaver Lake Road. Officers assisted in getting person to ambulance for transport.
  • Report of several items stolen from unlocked vehicle in driveway and seats cut with sharp object at 10000 block of 108th Avenue. Possible suspect.
  • Report of apartment door open with person lying on floor inside of 6400 block of Sycamore Lane. On arrival officers made contact with person who was trying to stay cool.
July 27
  • Report of items stolen from vehicle inside, garage door was left open at 6700 block of Queensland Lane. No suspect at this time.
  • Report of person experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains at 8000 block of Narcissus Lane. On arrival provided oxygen until paramedics arrived for transport to hospital.
  • Report of unattended suitcase left in lobby of business for hours at 13000 block of Grove Drive. Officer’s located owner, contact made will pick up suitcase.
  • Report of person having seizure at 6000 block of Kingsview Lane. On arrival officers assist paramedics for transport.
July 28
  • Report of suspicious person in reporting party’s backyard on 7700 block of Dallas Lane. Officers made contact with person who was with crew doing tree removal.
  • Report of person that had fallen on 6200 block of Quinwood Lane. Officers assisted for transport to hospital.
July 29
  • Report of items stolen out of two unlocked vehicles in driveway overnight at 10000 block of Ives Lane. No suspects at this time.
  • Report of possible heart attack on 9000 block of Garland Lane. On arrival officers assisted paramedics for transport.
July 30
  • Resident reported they woke up to find someone inside residence who ran into vehicle and left area of 9400 block of Quaker Lane. No suspect located at this time.
  • Report of person who fell off bike; possible broken leg on 14000 block of Bass Lake Road. Transported by ambulance to hospital.
  • Report of damage to vehicle parked in driveway overnight at 12000 block of Arbor Lake Parkway. No suspects at this time.
During this time period there were 53 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accidents.
