Inside The Numbers:
The Orioles have owned the rivalry winning the last 16 games dating back to 2003. The last time the Crimson defeated Osseo, none of the players on either roster were even attending school.

Last season, the Orioles defeated the Crimson 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-10).

 About the Orioles: (1-1)
Head Coach: Mandi Burian
Burian knows plenty about the rivalry as she graduated from Maple Grove in 2001 and played for the Crimson from 1997-2000.

“In the four years that I played, we never could beat Osseo either,” Burian said. “I think that it puts more pressure on Osseo because we are “supposed” to win because we always do.”

Senior Tina Boe recorded her 1,000th kill against Rochester Mayo in August and is listed as a key to winning the game.

Osseo Keys to the Game:
Be focused.
Be consistant.
Serve tough.

“As long as our passers and setters can get Boe the ball, she does a great job of taking the game into her hands.” - Head Coach Mandi Burian

Orioles to Watch:
Middle Blocker: Tina Boe, Middle Blocker: Anna Fuhrman

 About the Crimson: (2-1)
Head Coach: Sean Haugen
This is a matchup that Maple Grove has on their radar every year. It has been 13 years since the Crimson defeated their cross district rival.

“They all know the length of time since the last win,” Haugen said. “We know what is at stake with the drought. We have come close in the past two years to winning. It’s always been a battle when we play Osseo.”

Maple Grove Keys to the Game:

We have to play and stick to our game plan.
We have to try to contain Tina Boe. She is a very good player and it’s tough to stop her.
We must stay disciplined in all aspects of the game.

“We have learned to face adversity in the two, five game matches,” Haugen said. “We talk about going five sets earlier, then later in the season. Battle tested is something we talk about daily.”

Crimson to Watch:
Outside Hitter: Paige Hinze, Libero: Ali Hinze and Opposite Hitter: Alexie Pryd
