Maple Grove Storm Floods Roadways

The following information was released from the Maple Grove Police Department approximately 9 p.m. Sept. 21: 

"The Maple Grove Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments have emergency crews throughout the city and are aware of the numerous stalled vehicles in intersections and storm related calls.  

Please stay at home or shelter in place at your current location for the duration of the evening until this storm passes and the flooding subsides.  

Conditions at this time are treacherous and life could be at risk if you unnecessarily leave your safe location."

Updated 9:30 p.m. Sept. 21 - There are several intersections throughout the city experiencing flooding, according to Maple Grove Police Captain Adam Lindquist, with "one of the biggest concerns" Elm Creek Boulevard/Maple Knoll Way.

Updated 10 p.m. Sept. 21 - According to the National Weather Service - Twin Cities, the Maple Grove area remains under a flash flood warning until 3:45 a.m. Sept. 22 and a flash flood watch until 7 a.m. Sept. 22.
