Oct 20, 2016 07:44AM ● By Doug Erlien
During Maple Grove Senior High four game win streak, Crimson Head Coach Matt Lombardi has told to his team about the need to get off to a strong start. The players answered, scoring a combined 77 first quarter points including 28 of those in their 48-17 throttling of Shakopee High School on Wednesday, Oct.19.

Senior Brad Davison accounted for a record five touchdowns as he threw for four scores and ran for another as the offense continued to produce. Davison connected with Josh Dugan from four yards to open the scoring, than found Ky Carlson on a 64-yard touchdown which opened the game up with 5:16 left in the first quarter. Less than two minutes later he scampered into the end zone from six yards out to put the Crimson up 21-3. The defense produced points on a Gabe Hanson interception return for a score giving Maple Grove a 25-point lead.

With the victory, the Crimson finish the regular season 6-2 and will wait to find out their playoff seeding which will be released on Thursday, Oct. 20.
