The remaining stretch of Highway 610 is scheduled to open to traffic early afternoon Friday, Dec. 9 after more than two years of construction. The new 2.5-mile road, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, "will fill in the gap" between Elm Creek Boulevard and I-94 in Maple Grove.

With the completion, community members can "travel through the northern Twin Cities suburbs unimpeded between I-35W in Mounds View and I-94 in Maple Grove," according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Despite the opening, additional work is scheduled to be completed such as clean up and final details. Also, the closure of the 101st Avenue bridge will begin the evening Friday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 18, will require the closure of I-94 beneath the bridge.
