Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks in Maple Grove Open Monday

After a slight delay, the outdoor ice skating rinks are scheduled to open Monday, Dec. 19 for the 2016-2017 winter season.

The ice skating rinks, maintained by the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation, were initially scheduled to open Dec. 17. A forecast of snow and cold temperatures resulted the decision to delay the opening.  

Ice skating options in Maple Grove include, according to the city of Maple Grove:

Community Rinks (hockey and pleasure rinks, shelter, lights)

Boundary Creek Neighborhood Park

Cedar Island Community School Playfield

Donahue North Community Playfield

Elm Creek School Community Playfield

Gleason Fields Community Playfield

Kerber Community Playfield

Maple Grove Middle School Community Playfield

Weaver Lake Community Playfield

Neighborhood Rinks (rinks without shelter buildings)

Thoresen Park

Hidden Meadows Neighborhood Park

South Elm Road Neighborhood Park

Ice Loop (pleasure skating only with shelter and lights)

Central Park
