After a slight delay, the outdoor ice skating rinks are scheduled to open Monday, Dec. 19 for the 2016-2017 winter season.
The ice skating rinks, maintained by the Maple Grove Parks and
Recreation, were initially scheduled to open Dec. 17. A forecast
of snow and cold temperatures resulted the decision to delay the opening.
Ice skating options in Maple Grove include, according
to the city of Maple Grove:
Community Rinks (hockey and pleasure rinks, shelter, lights)
Neighborhood Rinks (rinks without shelter buildings)
Ice Loop (pleasure skating only with shelter and lights)
Outdoor rink hours vary depending on day of the week, holiday, and non-school days. Details of hours can be found on the city of Maple Grove website here for community and neighborhood rinks and the ice skating loop here.
