Wind Chill Advisory in Effect for Maple Grove Area

After a relatively warm December, 2017 has arrived – bringing with it cold winter temperatures and wind chills.
Starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 and continuing through noon, Thursday, Jan. 5, the National Weather Service – Twin Cities issued a wind chill advisory for most of Minnesota – including Maple Grove.
“Expect wind chills to range from 20 below zero to 35 below zero between developing over the area this evening and continuing until noon Thursday. The coldest wind chills will occur between 6 and 9 a.m. Thursday,” the National Weather Service – Twin Cities stated in their forecast.
The wind chills “will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin,” according to the National Weather Service.
Low temperatures are forecast to continue through the rest of the week and into the weekend with a high of 11 degrees forecast for Sunday.
