Newly retired Maple Grove Firefighters Curt Roberts and Randy Mueller were recognized for their combined 49 years of service at the Jan. 3 Maple Grove City Council meeting.

Each were presented with the helmet they used at the time of their retirement along with a plaque.

In addition to Roberts 29 years of service, he was president of the Fire Relief Association for several years and served as Station 4 Lieutenant when he retired in October 2016.

Mueller, with 20 years of service, was captain for several years, and retired as a Station 5 firefighter Dec. 31.

“Thank you for your many years of service,” Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson said at the meeting. “We appreciate your service to the city.”
