SafeJourney Program Seeks Volunteers to Help Victims of Domestic Abuse

To help patients and individuals in the community who are experiencing domestic abuse, the SafeJourney program at North Memorial Medical Center and Maple Grove Hospital is looking for volunteer advocates. 

Volunteers provide a listening ear, support, safety planning, information and referral. No previous experience necessary. 

The next training session for volunteer advocates is 5:30 to 9 p.m. March 7, 9, 14, and 16 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Attendance at all four evening sessions is required. 

Scheduling is flexible (day, night, and weekends). Advocates sign up for two on-call shifts per month. Shifts are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. :
