When longtime Maple Grove resident Steve Edwards decided to leave a 16-year job as a retail store manager, he had yet to determine his path.

“I just wanted to do something on my own,” he said. After researching franchise opportunities and working with a consultant, CertaPro Painters resonated with him.

“This was the right one for me,” he recalled.

As a result, Edwards has now owned CertaPro Painters of Northwest Metro in Maple Grove since 2013.

“What drew me in was the problem-solving aspect,” he said, such as helping and working with community members to decide on colors, products to use, techniques and more for their interior and exterior painting projects.

“Homeowners struggle mostly with color – sometimes keeping it ‘as is’ for 15 years with no change. We assist with color consultation. Sometimes it just starts with a question or general idea,” he said. “People are saying they need help – that’s where we come in.”

For project pricing, it depends on the amount of preparation work, hours, and gallons of paint to be used. Once a consultation is completed, customers are provided with a detailed, written proposal and services are completed by licensed and insured painters.

“We understand what it takes to do the project. It’s about making it [painting process] as easy on you as possible,” Edwards said. “We do the painting – you do life. You’ll be happy with the results – we stand behind what we do.”

CertaPro Painters of Northwest Metro serves Maple Grove, Rogers, Champlin, Osseo, Dayton, Brooklyn Park, and the surrounding areas.
