Though skiing, ice fishing, and sitting by a warm fire are still top-of- mind for most area residents, warmer times are close at hand. Applications are now being accepted for vendors who wish to participate in the 14th season of the Maple Grove Farmers Market.

The market runs 20 weeks, beginning Thursday June 8 and ending Thursday Oct. 19, 2017.

Applicants are can visit or call 763-494- 5955 for additional information.

The Maple Grove Farmers Market, at the Maple Grove Community Center, features about 50 vendors offering a wide array of locally grown produce; farmstead items such as meat, eggs, maple syrup and honey; and unique locally-made specialty foods. Vendors must play a role in growing or producing the items they offer for sale.

“We’re fortunate to have a strong core of vendors who return to the market year after year,” Market Manager Kirsten Bansen Weigle said. “We also have an opportunity to add new vendors and delicious new flavors for each market season.” Vendors offering fruits, berries, certified organic items, gluten- and allergen-free items, and dairy products are especially invited to apply.

The market is an initiative of the city of Maple Grove and is supported by the community, attracting approximately 2,000 shoppers each Thursday afternoon.
