With more than a week left in February, Maple Grove could experience record temperatures Friday, Feb. 17 and continuing into early next week. The National Weather Service - Twin Cities is forecasting a 58 degrees on Friday and continuing in the 50's through Monday.

The unusually warm weather is causing changes at the winter outdoor facilities to adjust to the spring-like environment.

The Central Park Skating Loop, according to the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Facebook page, is planning on closing at 2 p.m. Friday, 17,  "until further notice as we see what Mother Nature has in store!"  Additional updates are anticipated on their page is it is available.  The department added that "Central Park playground is open and ready for fun!"

All of the other Maple Grove ice skating rinks were closed as of Feb. 13, Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

As of Feb. 12, some skiing trails were reported closed at the Elm Creek Park Reserve Winter Recreation area. No update was provided on tubing hill, according to the Three River Parks District website
