Assault, Peeping Tom, Parking Lot Robbery: MGPD Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove Jan. 29 through Feb. 4, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department.

Jan. 29

11000 block of Fountains Way. Report of a theft of phone, while parties were swimming, someone went though belongings and stole cell phone. No suspects at this time.

13000 block of 71st Avenue. Report of person in pain. Officers arrived, person was transported to hospital by another party.

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of person being robbed while conducting a sale of items in parking lot. No suspects at this time and investigations following up on case.

Jan. 30

9000 block of Grove Circle. Report of hub caps stolen off vehicle while parked in parking lot. No suspects at this time.

6500 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of two suspicious vehicles in area. Officers made contact with two insurance adjusters examining damage from a tree on a house.

12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of person in parking lot watching parties leave their vehicles over the last three days. Officer following up on case.

9000 block of Grove Circle. Report of party on bicycle looking into vehicles in parking lot. Officers arrived, did not find person.

Jan. 31

9000 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of vehicle in parking lot moving several times to a new parking spot. Officers made contact with two parties in vehicle and arrested one for false info and warrants.

7200 block of Forestview Lane. Report of person purchasing items at business and presenting counterfeit currency; follow up investigation is being conducted.

12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of items stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in business parking lot. No suspects at this time.

Feb. 1

12000 block of 95th Place. Resident’s screen door locked, storm door open. Observed a male looking at her. The male got into vehicle and drove away. Officers did not locate vehicle.

11000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of party filling tank with gas and leaving without paying. The vehicle lights were off, vehicle ran a red light. No licence plate information given, officers did not locate vehicle.

Feb. 2

14000 block of 68th Place. Report of vehicle owner came out to their vehicle, there was another vehicle key in ignition. Officers learned nothing taken from unlocked vehicle.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of person concealing items and leaving business without paying. Officers arrived and arrested party for the theft.

Hemlock Lane & I-94. Report of person that had blacked out. Vehicle rolled forward striking vehicle in front of theirs. Minor damage to vehicle struck. Person transported to hospital by ambulance.

12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of person trying to cash a fraudulent check, suspect was leaving as officers arrived and arrested party.

Feb. 3

73rd Avenue and Kirkwood Lane. Report of a cargo van striking a sign and continued on without stopping. Sign not permanently damaged and no suspect information.

9000 block of Garland Lane. Report of several storage lockers broken into and several items stolen. Case being investigated.

11000 block of Fountains Way. Report of window smashed out while owner was inside business. Possible suspect followed up on.

12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of person being assaulted inside movie theater. Case being followed up on.

Feb. 4

12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of possible intoxicated person stumbling down sidewalk. Officers eventually located party inside a business and was having a diabetic episode. Ambulance arrived and transported party to hospital.

16000 block of 96th Avenue. Report of money clip being left behind at business and next person checking out takes it. Officers were unable to identify person at this time.

13000 block of 62nd Avenue. Report of locked vehicle in driveway gone through. Officers observed glove left behind and finger print inside vehicle. Crime lab called to scene.

15000 block of Grove Circle. Report of party filling cart full of items, leaving store without attempting to pay and left in vehicle. Officers located suspect and arrested them for the theft.

During this time there were 37 property damage traffic accidents and five property damage injury traffic accidents.
