While many Maple Grove residents may have been finding relaxation at the cabin last August, Maple Grove resident Jodie Yowell Swee and her husband John Swee were heading out to Los Angeles.
“My husband and I were brainstorming fun things to do when we went to LA last August and being a part of a game show audience made the list. I did some research and when I found that we could do ‘Let’s Make a Deal’, I signed up right away! A game show and a chance to dress up in silly costumes sounded like a win to us,” Jodie said.
While at the show,
Jodie was invited to join “Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady as she attempted
to avoid “Zonks” and win prizes, according to a press release from Fremantle
Media. The show is scheduled to be aired on CBS Monday,
March 6. (update: click here to view the show online.)
From her time in the
audience to creating her costume with husband, enjoyed her experience.
“It was so fun! You
have a couple of hours of downtime before the show tapes when you interact with
producers and other audience members. The producers are getting everyone pumped
up and looking for potential contestants, so there was a lot of laughter and
mingling as we all chatted and admired each other's costumes,” Jodie said of
her experience. “Meeting others and hearing their stories was a definite
highlight for me. Another highlight was what happened during the show...but
you'll have to tune in to find out about that!”
In addition to being a
Maple Grove resident, Jodie is a mother of a Basswood Elementary student,
member of Church of the Open Door and owns her own business, Live Idlewild.
