Following an evening of early severe spring weather, high winds on Tuesday, March 7 caused the Maple Grove Dome to deflate - with no reopen date yet rescheduled.

The city of Maple Grove issued the following statement on their website Tuesday:

Due to high wind, the Maple Grove Dome has deflated and will be closed until further notice. This means there will not be any practices and the track will not be available for walking. There will be no open dome on Friday, March 10. If you are looking for a place to walk this week you can come to the Maple Grove Community Center, there are maps available with distances for a good loop at the front desk. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The Maple Grove area continues to remain under a wind advisory until 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8 with 25 to 35 mile per hour wind gusts forecast  west - possibly reaching up to 50 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service - Twin Cities.
