Dog Rescue, TV & Tire Theft, Old School House Damage: MGPD Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove Feb. 5-11, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department.

Feb. 19

12000 block of 82nd Avenue. Vehicle parked at business had rear window smashed out and several items taken from inside; no suspects at this time.

15000 block of Grove Circle. Party inside business tried leaving without paying for a big screen TV, stopped by loss prevention. Officers arrested party for theft.

13000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of suspects filling gas tank and driving off without paying. No suspect at this time.

12000 block of 82nd Place. Report of people knocking on front door and garage. Officers located parties who were intoxicated and at the wrong residence.  Officers assisted in getting everyone home safely. 

Feb. 20

67th Avenue and Polaris Lane. Report of person standing in the fair for about an hour. Officers made contact with juvenile who was lost and transported them home. 

Feb. 21

6200 block of Norwood Lane. Report of unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight had been gone through, nothing taken.  Later victim found out a check from checkbook taken and cashed; case being investigated.

8500 block of Jefferson Highway. Report of vehicle in parking lot of business, party getting out and taking pictures. Officer made contact with party who took a picture of a truck. 

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of person filling tank with gas and driving off without paying. Officer following up on case. 

12000 block of 85th Avenue. Found backpack in yard, subsequent investigation revealed property stolen out of unlocked vehicle parked in neighbor’s driveway overnight.  No suspects at this time. 

16000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of window broken at old school house; photos taken of damage, caretaker notified and no suspects at this time. 

Feb. 22

11000 block of 97th Place. Report of van parked behind business in early morning hours. Officers made contact with individual who fell asleep waiting to make delivery route. 

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of two suspects concealing items and leaving business without paying. Both parties were arrested for the theft. 

6000 block of Hemlock Lane. Report of window smashed out of vehicle parked in business parking lot and purse stolen from front seat. No suspects at this time. 

8000 block of Valley Forge Lane. Report of window smashed out of vehicle parked in business parking lot and purse stole from front seat. No suspects at this time. 

Feb. 23

9000 block of Rosewood Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle making several stops in neighborhood multiple times during all hours of the day and leaving when residents comes out. Officer will be notified when vehicle returns. 

6000 block of Weston Lane. Report of two persons ringing resident’s doorbell, then seen running towards park path. Officers searched area and found no suspects. 

Feb. 24

16000 block of 96th Avenue. Report of same suspect, on several occasions, concealing items and leaving business without paying. Officers following up on case for identification and charging. 

9000 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of person getting two new tires installed on vehicle, then left business without paying. Officer following up with registered owner.

13000 block of 62nd Avenue. Report of cars parked in cul-de-sac in early morning hours. Next day found beer cans and garbage thrown in yards and street. No suspects at this time.

8000 block of Norwood Lane. Report of occupied vehicle parked in front of residence playing loud music. Several parties in vehicle cited for tobacco violations. 

Feb. 25

13000 block of Timber Crest Drive. Delivered package reported taken from front steps. No suspects at this time.

12000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of several eggs thrown at residence; no suspects at this time.

Highway 610 & I-94. Officers responded to a single vehicle accident, no injuries; officers arrested driver for DWI. 

Feb. 26

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of fight between staff and customer; officers arrived and customer left in cab. No charges. 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Community Service Officer arrived to unlock a vehicle with keys inside for a party, who arrested for warrants.

8600 block of Valley Forge Lane. Report of iPhone stolen from gym bag; no suspects at this time.

12000 block of 99th Avenue. Homeowners garage door left open overnight and several items stolen from inside; no suspects at this time. 

Feb. 27

11000 block of Fountains Way. Report of customer ordered food, ate it, complained about the food and left without paying the bill. Officers made contact with party, who returned and paid the bill. 

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Party walked in business, picked up a guitar then ran out of the store, into a vehicle that drove away at a high rate of speed; officers following up on possible suspect. 

Feb. 28

13300 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of person pumping gas into vehicle and driving off without paying; officer made contact with registered owner who paid for the gas. No charges. 

9600 block of Grove Circle. Report of terminated employee causing a scene inside business. Officers arrived, person cited for disorderly conduct and trespassed from the business. 

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of two parties selecting clothing items, putting them on in fitting room, then left without paying. Officers made contact with parties who were trespassed and cited for the theft. 

March 1

7000 block of Shadyview Lane. Report of dog falling through the ice on a pond behind residence; officers and firefighters were able to rescue dog catchpole.   

9700 block of 69th Avenue. Report of items missing from inside residence, officers learned lower level door was unlocked, possible entry point.  Case being follow up on for possible suspect. 

March 2

12000 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of iPhone 7 stolen out of gym bag while inside business; no suspects at this time. 

7900 block of Main Street. Report of person receiving expensive treatment at business, stated needed to go to vehicle to get wallet and never returned to pay. Officer following up to identify suspect. 

9500 block of Lawndale Lane. Report of ten gallons of gas being siphoned out of vehicle parked in driveway overnight; no suspects at this time. 

March 3

93rd Place and Lawndale Lane. Officer observed elderly male standing on corner in pajamas, holding picture frame. Officer made contact, person confused.  Located his residence and brought him home. No injuries. 

12000 block of 95th Avenue. Homeowner woke by their barking dog and saw person trying to remove screen door and open patio door. Person saw homeowner and ran off; officers could not locate anyone in area. 

12000 block of Main Street – report of person harassing people in transit ramp and getting hostile; officers made contact with person who was later arrested for warrants and controlled substances.

March 4

9000 block of Garland Lane. Officer noticed vehicle parked at closed business and made contact; parties cited for underage consumption. 

13000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of vehicle window smashed out while owner was inside business; no suspects at this time. 

During this time period there were 41 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
