The annual Empty Bowls for CROSS Services
raised awareness of hunger issues and funds to help local families and individuals in need in the community.
Donations (donors, sponsors, admission, bowl sales) totaled $14,251 - which the Kopp Family Foundation matched that amount with $10,000, bringing the event total to $24,251.
"We are grateful to the many people who attended the event and helped us match the
$10,000 from the Kopp Family Foundation," CROSS Services Executive Director Elizabeth Johnson said. "Thank you so much to our donors, vendors and the many volunteers who
made this happen, especially the chair Pam Hanson."
Empty Bowls is one of several fundraisers for CROSS Services each year. The next upcoming event is The Derby Days Golf Tournament May 21 at Sundance Golf Course.
CROSS has served
local families and individuals for over 40 years in the communities of Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers by providing food, housing, clothing, and other assistance.
