Disgruntled Employees, Assault, Theft: MGPD Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove March 5-11, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department

March 5

13800 block of Grove Drive. Reported of a person slumped over in a vehicle. Officers made contact with party who was arrested for DWI. 

16000 block of 96th Avenue. Report of person inside business staggering and falling down, attempted to leave in vehicle. Officers made contact with individual who was arrested for DWI. 

7600 block of Fountain Lane. Report of two dozen eggs thrown at garage; no suspects at this time. 

9500 block of 103rd Avenue. Report of two adults and two young children playing on pond with open water; officers made contact from shore advising of thin ice and possible safety hazards. Individuals left the area. 

March 6

6200 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of people in park after hours having a recreational fire, officers contacted juveniles, who were out past curfew.  Fire put out, parents notified. 

8900 block of Zachary Lane. Report of person unconscious, arriving officers started CPR.  Ambulance transported individual with faint pulse to hospital. 

7000 block of Balsam Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle driving in cul de sac several times. Officers made contact, party was lost, but then found where friend’s house in the area. 

16000 block of County Road 30. Report of fired employee making a scene inside business. Individual left before officers arrived. 

March 7

10000 block of 99th Place North. Report of neighbor’s garage door open for three or four days. Officers arrived, checked interior of residence, closed garage door and notified homeowners. 

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of individual concealing items in purse, some items paid for, there were additional items in purse that were not paid for. Officers arrested individual for shoplifting.

13000 block of 83rd Way. Employee fired and refusing to leave business. Officers arrived, issued individual trespass notice and told party to leave. 

March 8

11000 block of 85th Place. Report of car alarm going off on a vehicle parked in driveway at 2 a.m. Owners looked out, saw tracks leading away from vehicle; no suspects found in area, no entry made inside vehicle. 

18000 block of 74th Place. Report of person in pain and ankle swollen. Officers and ambulance arrived, person transported to hospital.

11300 block of Fountains Drive. Person inside business, taking tags off items and putting items in garbage, officers arrived, issued trespass notice to person. Nothing stolen and nothing damaged. 

11700 block of Fountains Way. Report of two parties fighting inside business. Individuals separated when officers arrived and then started to fight again in front of officers. One person arrested for drugs, the other person cited for disorderly conduct. 

18300 block of Gladstone Boulevard. Report of three tires slashed on vehicle parked in driveway; no suspects. 

March 9

Highway 169 and I-94. Report of vehicle all over the road and speeding. Officers learned vehicle stolen from Minneapolis. Officers stopped vehicle, discovered 13-year-old was driving.  Individuals brought to police department, one arrested for theft. 

Report of neighbor’s garage door open with no cars inside. Officers arrived, door going into residence locked, nothing suspicious.  Officer closed door and notified neighbor. 

16300 block of County Road 30. Report of van parked behind closed business. Officers made contact with owner who was electrician working at business. 

March 10

11000 block of Central Park Way. Report of several items stolen from residence. Officers learned of suspect who pawned most of the items. Case being investigated. 

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of person taking soup and muffins from business without paying. Officers cited individual for theft. 

12100 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of individual concealing several items totaling over $500 and leaving business without paying. Officers arrested individual. 

March 11

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of a group of males in area causing problems and bothering customers at business. When officers arrived individuals had left the area. 

8300 block of Oakview Court. Report of a female with a child, knocked on homeowner’s door at 11 p.m. While talking through closed-door individual stated phone tracker tracked lost phone to this house. Homeowner did not have phone; officers searched area and did not locate parties. 

9300 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of a large group fighting at business; upon arrival fight broken up and all parties escorted off business property.  No charges pending.                            

During this time period there were 15 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
