Sticker Fraud, Mooning, Suspicious Clown: MGPD Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove March 12-18, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department

March 12

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of person sitting outside business eating food, which had not been paid. Officers arrived, spoke with party who stated friend was coming to pay for items; friend arrived and paid for food. No charges. 

12000 block of Weaver Lake Drive. Report of cell phone and wallet stolen from unlocked locker at business. Officers did follow up on phone track, no suspects at this time. 

12000 block of 90th Place. Report of damage to vehicle while parked in business parking lot, a baseball size hole and cracks. No suspects at this time. 

16000 block of County Road 30. Report of intoxicated person falling inside business and hitting their head. Officers arrived, person confused and incoherent. Transported to hospital by ambulance. 

March 13

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Report of employee going to receiving area to prepare trucks for deliveries and interrupted a male attempting to cut seals with bolt cutters on truck. Male ran off; no suspect found in area, nothing taken. 

16000 block of 94th Avenue. Report of damage done to vehicle while parked in business parking lot; no suspects at this time. 

11000 block of 71st Avenue. Report of possible domestic at neighbors. Officers made contact with parties who were watching a movie with a sound bar on.  

March 14

7700 block of Dallas Lane. Report of vehicle parked in front of neighbor’s residence for a long period of time. Officers contacted contractor who arrived earlier than homeowner, who then arrived. 

13000 block of 80th Circle. Report of three vehicles parked at business having windows shattered and items stolen from inside. No suspects at this time.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of person taking lower price stickers off items and putting them on higher priced items. Officer arrived, party arrested for fraud. 

March 15

Bass Lake Road and I-494. Report of person driving on the shoulder of the freeway. Officer made a stop of the vehicle, driver arrested for DWI. 

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of person filling tank with gas and driving off. Officer made contact with party who said it was a mistake and went back, paid for the gas. No charges. 

March 16

9000 block of 103rd Avenue. Report of vehicle parked in driveway overnight, damaged, the lock cylinder removed from door handle. No suspects at this time. 

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Person inside business concealed merchandise and tried walking out without paying. Loss prevention stopped the party and got merchandise back. When officers arrived, individual had left.

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of property damage accident involving two vehicles. Officers responded to scene, one individual arrested for DWI.

March 17

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Report of two individuals stealing items and then returning them at a different store. Officers learned the two parties have done this several times. Cases are being investigated. 

12000 block of Main Street. Vehicle parked in transit ramp had front driver’s wheel stolen while owner was at work. Surveillance video showed possible suspect. Case being investigated.

9500 block of Hemlock Lane. Report of person acting erratic. Officers made contact with individual, who was wearing a clown outfit, saying they were just going to visit students that they used to teach.  Officers advise them to leave the area.

March 18

18000 block of 63rd Place. Report of eggs being thrown at residence during the evening hours. No suspects at this time and no damage. 

90th Place and Dunkirk Lane. Report of person walking down a roadway. Officers made contact with individual, officers gave ride to a facility in the area.    

13000 block of 83rd Way. Report of six to 10 juveniles mooning through window of restaurant and leaving in two vehicles. Officers did not locate the juveniles or the vehicles in the area. 

During this time period there were 40 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
