Mail Theft, Counterfeit Bills, Burglary: MGPD Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove March 19-25, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department.

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of individual concealing several items inside purse and left business without paying; officers arrived. Individual arrested for theft.
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of three individuals selecting hot food inside business, walked around, eating the food, then running out of business without paying. Officers unable to locate individuals or vehicle.
12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of locked vehicle stolen from parking lot of business. No suspects at this time.
8800 block of Zachary Lane. Report of license plates stolen off vehicle parked in business parking lot; officers following up.
18000 block of 86th Place North. Individuals arrested in another county were found with several pieces of stolen mail from Maple Grove residents. Suspects being charged through other county.
12000 block of 74th Avenue. Report of wallet stolen in Blaine and several charges made on credit cards in Maple Grove. Officer following up on case in Maple Grove.
16000 block of County Road 30. Report of 16 counterfeit $20 bills taken at business, follow up being conducted to identify suspect.
7700 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of vehicle in business parking lot running for several hours; officers made contact with owner who stated remote starter must have been pushed.
8000 block of Jefferson Highway. Employee reported customer smelling of alcohol, leaving business, driving out of parking lot. Officer on scene already, followed vehicle, made traffic stop for violations and driver arrested for DWI.
13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of customers behaving poorly and not wanting to pay bill. Officers made contact, bill was paid and individuals removed from business.
11000 block of 88th Place. Homeowners arrived home, opened garage door and found two suspects inside, who then ran. Officers located one individual in area who was arrested, follow up for other suspects being done.
6000 block of Fernbrook Lane. Resident came home finding front door open. Officers cleared residence and observed several electronics stolen from inside. Case is under investigation.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of theft in progress inside business. Officers were in area and made contact with individual in parking lot, who was then arrested for theft.
9700 block of 64th Avenue. Report of neighbors garage door open all day. Officers arrived and found interior doors locked and were able to secure garage door shut.
County Road 30 and County Road 81. Report of person with a tan holster and black gun; officers made contact with individual inside business and learned that it was cowhide holder with a black umbrella. No weapon located.
13000 block of 85th Place. Life Alert alarm pressed at residence; officers arrived, made entry and found person had fallen. Officers assisted in getting them back in wheelchair; no injuries.
13000 block of 90th Place. Vehicle running in driveway stolen; vehicle later recovered in different city. Case is being investigated.
8000 block of Kirkwood Lane. Report of five delivered boxes stolen off front steps of residence; no suspects at this time.
9000 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of person picking up item inside business, going to return counter without a receipt, traffic stop of suspect vehicle, who was arrested for theft.
11000 block of Lakeland Drive. Report of storage garage broken into and several items stolen; no suspects at this time.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of several people inside business concealing items and running out into waiting vehicle. Officers located vehicle and arrested individuals for theft.
13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of juvenile having difficulty breathing inside business; officers administered oxygen until paramedics arrived. Parent transported juvenile to hospital.
During this time period there were 14 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
