Firefly Credit Union recently received first place for the National 2016 Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award at the CUNA’s 2016 Governmental Affairs Conference in March.
The credit union, with a location in Maple Grove, was honored for their "leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of adult financial literacy," according to Firefly press release. The Learn@Work program at Firefly advanced to the national competition after winning Minnesota statewide honors.
“It is always humbling to be rewarded for something you put a lot of time and effort into, but receiving this award was extra special to us,” Firefly’s Business Development Manager Reyna Staats said. “The continuous energy we put into this program is worth it when you see the impact it has on these different workplaces. Financial literacy is important and we are always challenging ourselves to evolve and guide our community members forward.”
