At the Monday, April 17 meeting, the Maple Grove City Council approved a resolution for a PUD Development Stage Plan for Gateway Retail, which also included the final plat for Buhl ZS Center.

The plans, according to documents provided to the city council, include a proposal by Buhl Maple Grove LLC to develop a 4,045 square foot retail building on the property (located on the southwest corner of 96th Avenue and Zachary Lane). Parnassus Preparatory School is reportedly west of the proposed to the site.

"The second phase, to include an approximate 11,000 square foot retail building, will be considered in greater detail in the future," according to a memo provided to the council.

The site, encompassing approximately 1.92 acres of land, is "currently undeveloped vacant land and has been in this condition since it was farmed in the 1930's," according to documents provided to the city council which stated, "...In keeping with the comprehensive plan and existing zoning, the buildings will accommodate multiple service retail tenants, such as a sandwich shop, coffee shop, financial services, or other similar retailers."
