A proposed new housing development, Mills Creek, received approval for a Planned Unit Development—Concept Stage Plan from the Maple Grove City Council at their meeting April 17.

The plan for the 15-acre site located at the 8600 block of Forestview Lane, includes a proposal for 66 "single family-detached units and associated amenities," according to documents provided to the council

Several additional items are still to be addressed in the plan by the applicant (Watermark Equity Group) according to documents provided to the council, including a "hammerhead turn-around at the end of 86th Avenue" to be added to the design as well as meeting with city staff for further stop sign and traffic flow review for the neighborhood.

According to documents from the April 3 meeting, "The applicant describes the neighborhood as having the benefits of a custom, high-end single-family neighborhood in a rental environment, offering an array of amenities for use by the residents. Given the rental environment there is no homeowner's association since all areas will be managed professionally." The narrative document continued by stating, in part, the homes will range 1,000 to 1,600 square feet in size with "estimated rents from the high $1,800's to the low $2,300's."
