Yellow Funnel Mystery, TV Sale in Van: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove April 16-22, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department. Additional details for burglaries, robbery, arson, and theft can be found on the city website crime mapping section

April 16

7300 block of Rosewood Lane. Report of loud music and talking at neighbors. Officers made contact with homeowner who turned down music and went indoors.

15000 block of Shadow Creek Road. Report of several people fighting in the street and front yard. Arriving officers found no one fighting. A physical altercation had occurred no one wanted to pursue charges. Everyone left the area and homeowner went inside.

68th Avenue and Lawndale Lane. Report of a child in the middle of a busy street on push bike. Officers learned siblings were to be watching child who had left the residence.

April 17

15000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of words etched into window on building. No suspects at this time.

7600 block of Orchid Lane. Vehicle parked on street, person walked to neighbor’s driveway, threw something yellow in color in the back of pickup. Officers found yellow gas funnel in truck. Spoke with vehicle owner who had borrowed funnel to friend who returned it.

6600 block of Merrimac Lane. Report of fire in basement of residence. Officers arrived with fire department. Candle started drapes on fire. Fire extinguished, house opened for ventilation. Damage to window and a wall.

10000 block of 104th Avenue. Report of male drinking alcohol and causing scene in park. Officers made contact with party, who was cited for consuming alcohol in park and asked to leave.

13000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of person slumped over steering wheel in business parking lot. Officers arrived, woke person who was arrested for a warrant.

April 18

16000 block of 94th Avenue. Officer saw vehicle parked in business parking lot late at night. Officers made contact, party arrested for narcotics.

9000 block of Fernbrook Lane. Report of car keyed from driver’s door down to rear of vehicle. Possible suspect and case being investigated.

12000 block of 71st Place. Report of two unlocked vehicles parked in driveway overnight and items stolen from inside. No suspects at this time.

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Report of suspect entering employee break area and stealing multiple items. Case is being investigated.

April 19

14000 block of 81st Avenue. Report of two occupied vehicles parked in cul de sac for over thirty minutes. Officers made contact with two contractors waiting for their boss. One party arrested for warrants.

80th Circle and Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of person falling off bike and injuring their shoulder. Officers assisted medics in getting party into ambulance for transport to hospital.

16000 block of 91st Avenue. Report of person having a seizure. Officers assisted medics in getting party into ambulance for transport.

April 20

16000 block of County Road 30. Report of vehicles parking in business lot early in the morning. Drivers meet and then leave. Possible drug activity, officers providing additional patrol.

15000 block of Grove Circle. Report of two males selling televisions out of van in parking lot. Officers made contact and advised of ordinance.

Hemlock Lane and Main Street. Report of vehicle driving off the roadway and hitting a tree. Officers arrested driver for DWI.

April 21

8000 block of Pineview Lane. Report of intoxicated party who would not leave business. Officers arrived and called taxi to take party home.

9000 block of Ranier Lane. Report of items stolen from inside unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight. No suspects at this time.

8000 block of Zachary Lane. Report of theft of several items from fenced in storage area. Case is being investigated.

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of party concealing item in pants and running out of store. Item found under vehicle in parking lot. Case is being investigated as plate number of vehicle was obtained.

April 22

11000 block of Fountains Way. Report of guests causing disruption and being loud. Officers made contact and had guests leave. One guest assaulted staff at front deck. Case under investigation for charges of assault.

Highway 610 and Zachary Lane. Report of person with flashlight walking on side of highway. Officers made contact with party and gave them a ride to a business so family could pick them up.

10000 block of 96th Avenue. Homeowner returned home found unknown person going through vehicle in driveway and ran off. Officers searched area but could not locate person. Nothing missing from vehicle.

15000 block of 71st Place. Report of several eggs thrown at house and vehicles in driveway. Possible suspect, case under investigation.
