Snapping Turtle Relocation, Business Burglary: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove April 23-29, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department. Additional details for burglaries, robbery, arson, and theft can be found on the city website crime mapping section

April 23

300 block of West Eagle Lake Drive. Report of damage to property of outdoor garage light.

10000 block of Yorktown Lane. Report of suspicious package delivered and outdoor garage light unscrewed.

15000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of windows apparently scratched with a rock.

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of merchandise stolen from store.

April 24

1500 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of purse stolen from vehicle.

17000 block of 69th Place. Complaint of loud music coming from residence; homeowner cooperative while officers on scene.

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Report of merchandise stolen from store.

8000 block of Cottonwood Lane. Report of an intoxicated party banging on door of residence. Officers responded and person transported to detox for further care.

April 25

18000 block of 68th Place. Report of set of golf clubs stolen from unlocked vehicle.

300 block of 2nd Avenue. Report of iPad stolen, which was recovered.

11000 block of 100th Place. Report of a raccoon on the house roof digging a hole. Officers responded and were able to transport the animal safely into the woods.

8000 block of Kirkwood Lane. Report of theft of package from front porch of home. 

April 26

9800 block of Hospital Drive. Report of person smoking marijuana; items confiscated and citation issued.

9000 block of Hemlock Lane. Report of a stolen vehicle, determined to be a civil matter.

8000 block of Zinnia Way. Report of argument and one party was locked out of house.

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of a possible alarm, no alarm, but a machine beeping due to low battery.

April 27

10300 block of 93rd Avenue. Report of a suspicious vehicle pulling in and out of driveways, it was a newspaper delivery service.

13000 block of 80th Circle. Report of fraudulent purchase of gift cards at business.

16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of theft suspect at business, suspect trespassed from business.

10000 block of 99th Avenue. Report of a dispute over personal property.

April 28

16500 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of burglary where vehicles were entered and items stolen.

18000 block of 98th Place. Report of homeowner smelling smoke of which source could not be determined.

7700 block of Niagara Lane. Report of snapping turtle stuck in yard for several days. Turtle was transported safely back into pond.

6200 block of Magda Drive. Report of marijuana smell in building.

April 29

11000 block of Fountains Drive. Report of burglary to business resulting in property damage, no apparent loss.

6300 block of Wedgewood Road. Report of theft of multiple items from vehicle.

7000 block of Magda Drive. Report of person who had fallen; party transported to hospital for treatment.

82nd Ave and Hemlock Lane. Report of person walking in gravel pits; officer advised party of the dangers and potential for citation. 

During this time period there were 29 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
