Shoplifting, Burglary, Dancing in Car: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove May 7-13, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department. Additional details for burglaries, robbery, arson, and theft can be found on the city website crime mapping section.

May 7
13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of a fight in the parking lot. No injuries and no charges pursued.

9500 block of Niagara Lane. Report of a burglary overnight while homeowners were away. Multiple items stolen.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of two customers taking soda from the fountain without paying and when approached, swore at the employee. Gone on police arrival.

13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of a couple yelling at each other in parking lot. No physical altercation and parties stated they just had a disagreement.

May 8
12000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of suspicious activity. Family was cleaning out a rental car upon returning from a trip.

7900 block of Everest Lane. Report of shots heard. Determined to be fireworks in the area.

89th Avenue and Forestview Lane. Report of a suspicious person carrying a suitcase walking up and down the street. Party was lost and called a friend for a ride.

11000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of possible medical or fight inside vehicle. Party was swinging head around while listening to music with friends.

May 9
11000 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of theft from construction site of multiple spools of copper.

10000 block of 89th Avenue. Report of damage to property. Vehicle hit by a BB gun.

9200 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of chest pain. Party transported to hospital by ambulance.

7800 block of Main Street. Report of theft from auto. Window broken and backpack with contents stolen.

May 10
11000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of suspicious activity in vehicle. Parties were smoking cigarettes prior to entering restaurant.

9500 block of Upland Lane. Report of theft of wallet from purse at place of employment.

17000 block of 88th Avenue. Report of package stolen from front porch. Suspect seen running away with box which was recovered after being discarded.

Bass Lake Road and Vicksburg Lane. Report of party being followed and harassed. Suspect admitted to being upset after observing failure to stop. Advised suspect to contact police for complaints in the future to which they agreed.

May 11
I-94 and Maple Grove Parkway. Report of a vehicle fire. Semi driver contacted but stated exhaust cleaner was on which would make it appear the vehicle was smoking.

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of a stolen vehicle. Vehicle located parked in front of a different store.

7400 block of Shenandoah Lane. Report of possible burglary in progress. Contact made and determined to be family member staying at the home.

May 12
12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting of multiple items at retail store.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of party panhandling. Person refused information regarding shelter or food shelves.

6600 block of Yucca Lane. Report of a person who appeared under the influence who approached resident complaining about their yard.

7200 block of Hemlock Lane. Report of a fight and noise disturbance. No evidence of fight, but large group asked to leave apartment.

County Road 81 and Hemlock Lane. Report of a bicyclist down, individual transported via ambulance for future care.

There were also 26 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
