The Maple Grove Crimson softball team will play in the Section 5AAAA championship game on Thursday, June 1 at Rice Creek Fields at 4 p.m. The top seeded Crimson will face the winner of the Champlin Park vs. Spring Lake Park game in the double elimination tournament. If Maple Grove wins the first game, they will advance to the state tournament which takes place June 8-9 at Caswell Park in North Mankato.

The 
Osseo Adapted Softball teams have advanced to the state tournament which takes place Friday, June 2 and Saturday June 3. In the CI Division, Osseo is the number one seed and will play Anoka-Hennepin at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 2. In the PI Division, Osseo is the third seed and will play Dakota United at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 2.

Maple Grove senior Jack Hutchison announced on Twitter that he will continue his academic and athletic career at Iowa State. That makes three players from last years Crimson boys basketball team that will play Division I basketball (Brad Davison, Wisconsin; Tywhon Pickford, Northern Iowa).

Section baseball is underway and the 
Heritage Christian Academy Eagles (number two seed in Section 4A) have advanced to the semi-finals. They will face Mounds Park Academy on Tuesday, May 30 at 4:30 p.m.. Osseo and Maple Grove begin the Section 8AAAA tournament on Wednesday, May 31. The Orioles (3rd seed) host Buffalo at 4:30 p.m. while the Crimson (number two seed) host Elk River in the double elimination tournament. St. Michael-Albertville is the top overall seed in the section.

The Section Lacrosse tournament begins this week as well. Maple Grove is the top seed in Section 8 and will host the winner of Monticello and Becker on Thursday, June 1st at 5 p.m. Osseo is the third seed and will host the winner of St. Cloud Tech and Rocori on Thursday, June 1st at 7 p.m.

On the boys side, Maple Grove is the top overall seed in Section 8 and will host the winner of Sartell-Saint Stephen and Buffalo on Thursday, June 1. Osseo is the seventh seed and will play Becker on Tuesday, May 30.
