Burglary, Neighbor Dispute, Theft from Auto: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove May 14-20, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department.

May 14

  • 15300 block of Elm Road. Report of a bush on fire next to home threatening the residence. Officer controlled the flames with squad extinguisher until fire units arrived.
  • 12000 block of Main Street. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle while parked at restaurant.
  • 9000 block of Magnolia Lane. Report of ex-girlfriend burning male’s t-shirt in video on Facebook. Individual advised this is a civil issue and contact small claims court for compensation.
  • 16000 block of 79th Avenue. Report of noise complaint. Homeowner contacted and apologized.  

May 15

  • 7800 block of Shadyview Lane. Officer observed door of model home open. Builder contacted and discovered two televisions stolen.
  • 14900 block of 64th Avenue. Report of vehicle stolen from driveway of residence.
  • 9600 block of Alvarado Lane. Report of male carrying briefcase, walking up to homes and trying the door handles. Party contacted and stated he was canvassing neighborhood for an organization and was either knocking on doors or ringing doorbells.

May 16

  • 6900 block of Berkshire Lane. Report of voices heard outside but no one seen.  Individual concerned about recent burglary. Officer located two people who were outside watching the storm.
  • 7800 block of Niagara Lane. Report of items stolen from vehicle parked in driveway.
  • 9400 block of Polaris Lane. Report of neighbor confrontation. Individuals advised to stay away from each other.
  • 11000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of a customer walking out of restaurant without paying their bill. 

May 17

  • 9800 block of Maple Grove Parkway. Report of an individual looking into car windows. Officers did not locate a suspect.
  • 8600 block of Terraceview Lane. Report of a snapping turtle in homeowner’s front yard, which was safely relocated to pond by officer.
  • 7000 block of Magda Drive. Report of an accidental cut. Officers assisted until paramedics arrived to transport individual to hospital.

May 18

  • 6900 block of Crest Drive. Report of medication stolen from vehicle parked in driveway.
  • 12500 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of window broken on vehicle while parked outside place of employment; no items stolen.
  • 6600 block of Olive Lane. Report of a person crawling through window at nearby address. When contacted, resident stated the front door is broken and this is only access to home.
  • 88th Place and Sycamore Lane. Report of water bottle thrown at vehicle, no damage noted. 

May 19

  • 12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of forced entry into business and items stolen.
  • 7800 block of Kingsview Lane. Report of individual who was verbally harassing neighbor and had spray painted message on lawn. 

May 20

  • 6200 block of Meadowlark Lane. Report of lost wallet and owner’s credit cards were used fraudulently. 
    16000 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of individual who had been drinking and had fallen. Individual agreed to seek medical help and transported to hospital by family member.
  • 16000 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of vehicle speeding through parking lot.  Individual contacted. 

There were also 23 property damage traffic accidents and four property damage injury traffic accidents.
