Pranav Rupireddy, a Maple Grove resident and a sophomore at Parnassus Preparatory School, recently received a perfect score on the National Greek Exam - Beginning Attic Greek, according to Parnassus Preparatory School. He was one of only two students (out of 858) to score perfectly.
The National Greek Exam, administered by the American Classical League, focuses on testing knowledge of ancient Greek grammar, vocabulary, geography and culture.
Pranav was presented with his Perfect Score Purple Ribbon award at a May ceremony at Parnassus.
“The classical languages, Latin and Greek, are a cornerstone of our liberal arts classical program connecting students to ancient civilizations, to English and many other languages, to logical and critical analysis, and to the sciences. We are delighted with the fact that Pranav placed in the top 0.2 percent of test takers!” Parnassus Executive Director Constance Ford stated in the release.
Greek is offered to students at Parnassus through the University of Minnesota’s College in the Schools Program. Parnassus’ students begin their Greek coursework after several years of Latin study.
Ten other Parnassus’ students received awards on the National Greek Exam.
