Council Approves Applewood Pointe of Maple Grove Planned Unit Development Stage Plan, Preliminary Plat Resolution

Plans for Applewood Pointe of Maple Grove moved another step forward.
Councilmembers approved a Planned Unit Development Stage Plan, Preliminary Plat resolution at the Monday, July 17 Maple Grove City Council meeting.
The PUD Stage Plan was presented for approval for “the purpose of developing property into an approximately 102-unit senior cooperative” located at Kirkwood Lane and 82nd Avenue, according to documents provided to the council.
The proposed four-story project, submitted by United Properties Investments LLC, would be located east of SilverCreek on Main Senior Assisted Living. All of the units would have two bedrooms, two baths and range in size from approximately 1,175 -1,893 square feet, according to a narrative document provided to the council by United Properties.
“The Development Stage Plans are in conformance with the approved Concept Stage Plan. Staff has some added some conditions related to the proposed architecture and landscaping but overall this appears to be a very nice proposal and will provide another good housing option in the Central Park area,” Maple Grove City Planner Peter Vickerman stated in a council memo.
The proposed Applewood Pointe project would be the second site for the senior cooperative site, the first is located off of Highway 494 and Bass Lake Road.
