The final plat for the first phase of Mills Creek, a rental community located on 8600 Forestview Lane, continued to move forward through the approval process in July.

The Maple Grove City Council approved a motion to direct the city attorney to draft a resolution to approve the final plat at the July 17 meeting.

The Mills Creek project request focused on a “a 66-unit single family detached rental community” along with a lot for a clubhouse, commons area, private streets and signs, according to documents provided to the council.

It is anticipated a resolution for the Mills Creek Final Plat (first phase) will be heard at the Aug. 7 Maple Grove City Council meeting.

According to documents presented as part of the PUD Concept Stage Plan at the April 3 meeting, "The applicant describes the neighborhood as having the benefits of a custom, high-end single-family neighborhood in a rental environment, offering an array of amenities for use by the residents. Given the rental environment there is no homeowner's association since all areas will be managed professionally." The narrative document continued by stating, in part, the homes will range 1,000 to 1,600 square feet in size with "estimated rents from the high $1,800's to the low $2,300's."
