A 300’ section of storm sewer pipe near Balsam Lane and Eagle Lake in Maple Grove could be slated for repair in the near future after it partially collapsed.
The Maple Grove City Council approved a resolution establishing the Balsam Lane Storm Sewer Project and ordered plans and specifications at the Aug. 21, 2017 meeting.
“The preliminary estimated cost to replace the storm sewer pipe is over $100,000 due to soil and home foundation considerations as well as winter conditions affecting costs,” according to a memo provided to the City Council.
Stantec, a consulting firm, will be review options as well as preparing plans and specifications. As part of the requested report, the city asked for a report whether “the proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.”
