To handle water runoff from a southern portion of Lawndale Lane, a storm pond near Cambridge Park, increased in size.

As a result, additional trees were removed from the site and the city worked with a “landscape architect to develop a tree planting plan for tree replacement to occur on site,” according to documents presented at the Aug. 21 Maple Grove City Council meeting. The plan was reviewed by the Arbor Committee in June.

The Council approved a resolution Aug. 21 for the plans and specifications and authorized advertising for project bids.

“Stock availability and the ability to monitor the tree plantings during the summer months suggests that planting in the spring is preferred. For this reason, bid documents are requiring plantings take place in the spring of 2018,” according to a memo presented to the Council
