While they may be rivals on the field, football players from Maple Grove Senior High School and Osseo Senior High School joined in giving back to the same organization this summer and fall - CROSS Services.
"We thank the leaders of these two area football teams for assisting us when we needed them," CROSS Services Executive Director Elizabeth Johnson said in a press release. "They had a great time teaming up and pushing beds during the bed races at Maple Grove Days, even racing several beds including ours and the winning Rotary bed. And when we needed rock on the roof top of our building in Rogers, they moved rock via a hand-to-hand bucket passing line.
CROSS is a non-profit organization serving families and individuals in need living in Maple Grove, Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton, Osseo and Rogers.
"What a great opportunity for the players to give back to the community and be in a unity of purpose before they are rivals on the football field," Johnson said.
