Bus Fares to Increase October 1

As part of an action by the Metropolitan Council at the beginning of September, regular bus route and rail fares (including Maple Grove Transit Express Bus) will be seeing an increase starting Oct. 1.

Regular route bus and rail fares increase by 25 cents and Metro Mobility fares by 50 cents, according to the Metropolitan Council.

The Maple Grove Express fares will be, effective Oct. 1, according to Maple Grove Transit:

Adults

$3.25   Rush Hour (6-9 a.m.)

$2.50   Non-Rush Hour 

Senior and Youth

$3.25   Rush Hour (6-9 a.m.)

$1.00   Non-Rush Hour 

Persons with Disabilities               

$1.00   Rush Hour (6-9 a.m.)

$1.00   Non-Rush Hour 

This is the first time transit fares have been raised in the Twin Cities area since 2008, according to the Metropolitan Council.
