Screaming Children, Offensive Texts, Thefts: Maple Grove Police Department Incident Report

The following synopsis of incidents occurred in Maple Grove Oct. 1-7, 2017, as provided by the Maple Grove Police Department.

9200 block of Garland Lane. Report of wallet stolen from unlocked car; credit cards used in another jurisdiction.
18500 block of 97th Place. Report of car egged overnight, unknown suspects.
200 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of children screaming. Officer responded and found children locked out of residence and their mother could not hear them. Officer obtained code for entrance, children were let back into home. Parent thanked the officer for helping.
7200 block of Kimberly Lane. Report of individual having difficulty breathing; officer responded, provided oxygen and individual was transported to hospital.
9900 block of Pilgrim Way. Report of occupied vehicle parked on street. Officer made contact and found party lived nearby and was making phone calls in his vehicle as not to disturb others sleeping in residence.
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of possible domestic inside vehicle in parking lot. Officer made contact and found two parties were arguing, nothing physical had occurred.
7500 block of Wedgewood Way. Report of multiple computer items stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway; no suspect.
69th Avenue & Ives Lane. Report of young child running along the road. Officers arrived and assisted with locating parent, who did not realize child had left the residence, advised regarding safety.
12400 block of Elm Creek Blvd. Report of items stolen from retail store by two females; case under investigation.
7700 block of Shenandoah Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle parked in the woods along a trail. Officer responded and found it belonged to a hunter, permit was visible on the dash.
18500 block of 98th Place. Report of offensive text messages to an individual. Officer made contact with suspect who denied intent to threaten. Both individuals agreed to stop communicating with each other.
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle while parked in parking lot; no suspect information.
8000 block of Vagabond Lane. Report of garbage can stolen from outside residence.
7000 block of Empire Lane. Report of two coyotes growling as they followed individual home while she was out walking her dog; officers responded but were unable to locate the coyotes.
8000 block of Jefferson Highway. Report of fire and small explosion inside container at business, which had been extinguished upon officer’s arrival; fire department responded and advised.
13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of shoplifter in custody. Officer responded and the suspect was arrested for theft, a warrant, and drugs.
69th Avenue & Magda Drive. Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for moving and equipment violations, the driver was found to be under the influence and arrested for DWI.
13700 block of 69th Avenue. Report of cellular telephone stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway.
12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifter in custody; officer responded suspect arrested for shoplifting.
12600 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft of laptop from vehicle in parking; vehicle window was smashed to gain access. Officer responded, checked the area did not locate suspect.
Bass Lake Rd & Sycamore Lane. Report of a person along roadway appearing to hitchhike. Officer responded and found their scooter battery had died, transported person home.
12900 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of money stolen from purse from a business; case under investigation.
7800 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of unruly customer at place of business. Officer responded and advised individual that they needed to leave and they did without issue.
9300 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of intoxicated customer trying to leave in their vehicle. Officer made contact and offered to call a cab to which the individual agreed.
During this time period there were 24 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
